Vitality offers a unique brand of Spa Therapy in an intimate setting conveniently located at the Village Shops in downtown Old Lyme. Our tranquil environment offers a wide range of holistic and therapeutic services including Therapeutic Massage, 100% Organic Skin care, Health Counseling, Acupuncture, Yoga & Meditation.

In addition to a complete range of therapeutic treatments, Vitality Spa offers a boutique setting with a range of beauty and wellness products, clothing, jewelry and eco-concious gifts for you and your home. We also hold events and workshops for you and your family such as Mindfulness Meditation and Mother & Daughter Nights.

Meet the Team

Lindsay and her Associates are CT Licensed Massage Therapists, Nationally Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, and members of the American Massage Therapy Association. Vitality's Certified Estheticians have over 600hr training each and all Vitality's Associates are trained in Solavedi Ayeurvedic skincare treatment.

Lindsay Eisensmith

Vitality Spa was opened in December 2010 by Lindsay Eisensmith and is the realization of Lindsay's passion to provide a unique Spa Therapy setting in Historic Lyme Street on the Connecticut Shoreline.

Lindsay's professionalism and vision have come together to expand her already successful venture, Better Health Massage & Bodywork and is a perfect complement to the Spa services that Lindsay and her team already provide to guests at the Bee & Thistle Inn in Old Lyme. "I am passionate about what we are doing here at Vitality" says Eisensmith. "Bodywork is an essential investment in your health, just like exercise, adequate sleep, proper nutrition and plenty of water".

Lesley Bolton
"Simplicity, patience, compassion"

Lesley graduated with honors for academic and hands on excellence from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy after receiving her B.S. in Exercise Science from Colby Sawyer College where she was a 4 year starter on the women's soccer team.

She is a "red shirt" member of the award winning CT Sports Massage Team and specializes in deep specific work with full body integration for sports specific injuries and problem areas. These include upper back & neck, postural work, de-stressing of the mind and body by easing muscle strains, pains & spasms. Lesley incorporates stretching and ROM into all of her sessions.

Lesley is also trained in Solavedi Ayurvedic Facial techniques.

Nikki Clark

Nikki graduated in 2005 from the Rising Spirit Institute of Natural Health in Atlanta GA. At Vitality she specializes in Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy Massage.

Her work is characterized by fluidity, tailored to your individual needs. Her intuitive hands love what she does and it shows in each and every massage.

Nikki is also known for her deep tissue massages but gives them with a relaxing touch, ideal for de-stressing and relaxing.

Nikki is an avid hobbyist and loves "everything". Her zest for life, upbeat positive energy is certainly catching!

Ivey Gianetti

Ivey graduated with highest honors for academic and hands on excellence from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy.

She believes that the spine is the "Tree of Life" and in the importance of keeping it flexible and healthy. She also believes in the body's ability to heal itself and that massage therapy is an important path to restoring health and wellness to the whole body. A strong supporter of self-care, Ivey works with her clients to tailor massage towards their individual needs by using multiple techniques to get the best results possible. She works to restore her clients' vital sense of well-being through the relief of chronic pain and stiffness, increasing flexibility and range of motion or relaxing a stressed nervous system and invigorating a depleted spirit.

Ivey deeply appreciates the relationship between states of mind, and what is manifesting in the physical body. Her intention for every session is to create a space that allows the mind and body to return to its natural state of harmony and balance. Her integrative bodywork combines Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue and Sports Massage. Stretching, Myofascial Release, Trigger Point, Acupressure, and Reiki.

Kara Richardson

Kara excelled in academics and hands on work at the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy where she graduated in 2006. She is a Certified Prenatal Massage Therapist and also has advanced studies in Hot Stone Therapy, Myofascial Release and Solavedi Ayurvedic Facials. Throughout her career as a massage therapist, Kara has continued to expand her knowledge and skills through continuing education and by working in various spa settings, finally finding her niche with Lindsay at Better Health Massage, now Vitality.

Kara’s work is intensely therapeutic and blends an invigorating deep tissue massage with the elements of a relaxing, almost meditative Swedish massage. Integrating light stretching, Myofascial Release, aromatherapy and trigger point therapy, her sessions are customized to each client’s individual needs and will support you wherever you are on your path to wellness.

Kara’s calming presence and compassionate nature put her clients at ease, allowing them to fully benefit from their treatments.

 

Kathy Monte

Kathy Monte  is a certified yoga teacher practicing both the Kripalu and Hatha Yoga Scaroopa styles. Kathy is also a Certified Embodyment Therapist, practicing yoga therapy for the treatment of pain and is a Reiki-Usui Master Level.

After graduating from CCMT in 2006 Kathy continued studies in both Massage and Yoga. Bodywork includes Healing Stones, Ashiatsu Oriental Bar Therapy, Ayurvedic/Abhyanga, Marma Point, and Shirodhara.

A private session can include Yoga Therapy; being moved through supported poses as well as Embodyment Therapy; a gentle hands-on technique to release the tighest tensions in your spine, helping alleviate pain, neck, back, headaches, sciatica, scoliosis, and more.

Kathy believes in using massage, Yoga, and energy work to promote  a state of deep relaxation, which enhances the bodys natural ability to heal, and maintain health on all levels

Mary Lou Rice

Mary Lou's goal of becoming a Massage Therapist was realized when she graduated from the Connecticut Center for Massage Therapy in 2008, adding another dimension to her work with individuals seeking therapeutic intervention or relaxation.

She began her career in the field of health and wellness in 1980, receiving her Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from Boston University's Sargent College of Allied Health Professions. She has been a registered and licensed Occupational Therapist for 30 years working in a variety of settings including short term rehabilitation, home care, pediatrics and developmental disabilities. She maintains her CT OT license and is a member of NBCOT.

Mary Lou is a Certified Pediatric Massage Therapist and is working toward becoming a Certified Educator of Infant Massage through IAIM. At Vitality, her specialty is a deeply relaxing and restorative massage but she also incorporates deep tissue, stretching, acupressure, aromatherapy, myofascial and sports massage techniques based on the individual's needs.

Jessica Ward

Qualifications: Certified Esthetician

Jessica has worked in the beauty and cosmetics industry for the last 8 years with various cosmetic lines, and positions ranging from cosmetics retail store management, beauty advisor, make-up artist and esthetician to her current positions as an esthetician at Vitality and as an esthetics educator at Connecticut's leading cosmetology school.

As an educator in the field of esthetics, she teaches students of all ages both theoretical and practical knowledge of the business, and loves to share knowledge with her spa guests as well. Jessica believes in having knowledge before action, and holds business and esthetics practice morals and ethics in high regard. She believes in a proper home care regime as well as appropriate professional skin services. Her facial massage techniques focus on tension and fluid retention release to detoxify, stimulate, smooth and tone the skin and relax the guest. Jessica appreciates, condones and recommends the use of active natural ingredients in skincare products and services.
